Datebk has a huge number of preference settings that aren't essential but that can make Datebk a wonderful tool for managing your data exactly the way you want to. One of the best ways to learn about Datebk is to download the manual, and read through it from front to back. It's a long document, but this can be spread over many days and will be of immense benefit. When you read something that you didn't know about previously, try it out in Datebk, especially if it looks like being of use to you. You can always reverse the setting if you don't like it. This will quickly make you familiar with many of Datebk's options, and you're bound to learn a lot, not only about options you want now, but also about options that you had no idea you needed.
Every few months, read through the manual again, especially if a new major release has been made. It won't take as long the second time around, and you'll pick up tips you missed the first time.
