ForceFloatAdvance

When Datebk is first launched after a hotsync and at the start of each day (or at the "Float Advance Time"), Datebk scans the databases to perform housekeeping tasks, such as advancing floating events and creating advance floats from normal events (see DatebkSixManualPage:47 or DatebkFiveManualPage:42 or DatebkFourManualPage:61 for more details). You can force Datebk to run this scan at any time:

  1. Go to the Daily View.
  2. Go to the "About - Register" screen (Options menu).
  3. Tap on the name of the program (e.g., "DateBk5") which is near the top of the screen, just above the version number. The screen will disappear (if it doesn't, you've tapped in the wrong place).
  4. Immediately go to a different day.
  5. In the top left of the Daily View screen (where the date is displayed), the word "Scanning" will appear and will flash once or twice. When it has finished, floats will have been updated (if any exist that need to be updated - e.g., if you had recently set an advance on an appointment).

This is a safe action and can be done at any time.
