Do I really have to go out of the program to be able to call the address book up for editing (not adding)?
Datebk won't edit for you, but it will launch the address book into the correct address. To do that, call up an address screen (by following a link or tapping on the split-screen), and then tap the "Go To" button at the bottom of the screen. You can then edit as usual.
