Imagine you have weekly appointments entered as recurring events, but you need to change the title slightly from one week to the next to indicate a room change, e.g. 'Staff Meeting - Conf. Rm. 1' vs. 'Staff Meeting - Exec. Conf. Rm.'. When you change a DETAIL of a recurring event, Datebk gives you the option to make the change for all events, future events, or only the current event. However you don't get the same option when you change the event NAME. To apply a NAME change to one instance of a recurring event, select the event, tap Menu | Record | Make Exception and then change the event title.
To enter rooms easily, set up shortcuts so that "Shortcut 1" gives you " @ Room 101 - Building 1", "Shortcut 2" gives you " @ Room 302 - Building 2", etc.
