Add Not Date-Specific Holidays

To add a repeating event for yearly events which are not date specific (e.g., Mother's Day, every 2nd Sunday in May):

1. Go to the next occurrence of the event, the 2nd Sunday in May in our case.
2. Add an untimed event with the description "Mother's Day".
3. Open the details dialog.
4. Tap on the word "None" next to the "Repeat:" label.
5. In the "Change Repeat" dialog, select "Month".
6. Set the appointment to repeat every 12 months.
7. Leave the end date unset.
8. Set the event to "Repeat by Day". The display box will then show you that this event will repeat: "The 2nd Sunday of every 12 months".
9. Tap OK to set the repeat and leave the "Change Repeat" dialog.
10. Tap OK again to leave the details screen.

In this case, selecting yearly repeats will not help you since this option only allows you to repeat the appointment on specific dates, not certain days.
